Our pieces this week:
This piece by Mina in faceted cloudy aquamarine with a purchased, but slightly modified, sterling triskel focal.
This is a very very simple gemstone pendant by Simbelmynë. Garnet and sterling silver.
Simple is beautiful. The color is enchanting and could be used to compliment many outfits.I love the straight alignment of the beads.Simply pretty.

On Mina's piece:
The unique milky quality of these aquamarine makes them very special. I love how she's taken these sparkly silver spacers and combined several of them them to make a more interesting spacer. The use of the focal is genius. It's elegant enough to make a simple strand of beads look magnificent, but simple enough that it doesn't outshine these gorgeous stones.

On the garnet:
It's one of those stones I get that want to stand on their own. This stone, garnet but of a darker and browner quality, is completely different. Every side and facet shows different color and interest. The almost metallic quality of garnet's shine is still visible, even in the roughness of this stone.
I've used others of this beadstrand in more sculptural pendants http://www.artfire.com/modules.php?name=Shop&op=listing&product_id=765415 but it seemed necessary to make one that stood simply, and on it's own.
